Custom User Permissions

Give each person on your team exactly the access their job needs. Instead of picking whichever built-in role comes closest, you can now turn individual permissions on or off for each user. Changes apply only to that one person, so customizing one Assistant doesn't affect any other Assistant on your account.
How it works
  • Start from a role, then adjust.
Pick a role to set the starting permissions, then check or uncheck individual permissions across seven groups: Products, Marketing, Website, Pricing & sales, Contacts, Settings, and Other tools. A checkbox in each group header turns the whole group on or off at once.
  • See who's customized.
    Customized users show as
    Custom
with their starting role, for example
    Custom (Assistant)
    .
    Reset to [Role] defaults
puts them back on standard permissions anytime.
  • Set Community access per community.
    Choose any mix of
    Content creation
    ,
    Moderation
    , and
    Community configuration
    for each community.
  • Invite new users by email.
New users now get an email link to set their own password, so you no longer create one for them.
  • Track changes on the Activity tab.
Each user profile shows when they were added and any role, permission, or site access changes, along with their sign-in details.
Good to know
  • Only the Account Owner and Co-owners can customize permissions.
  • Assistants, Support Specialists, and Payments Assistants are free and unlimited on every plan. Customizing one of them uses one extra user, the same seat an Administrator uses. Changing only Community access never uses an extra user.
  • Saving permission changes signs that user out. Their new access takes effect the next time they sign in.
